Hiking at Holy Mountain of Sari Salltik

The Kruja and Sari Saltik Cave Tour blends together hiking and cultural experiences. Depart from your hotel at 9:00AM and take a 50-minute trip from Durres to the charming town of Kruja. The journey commences with a hike to the Holy Cave of Sari Saltik, a revered 13th century Turkish dervish who is worshipped as a saint by the Bektashis in the Balkans and parts of the Middle East. While hiking at the Holy Mountain, you will pass through contemporary areas of Kruja before reaching a trail that has been utilized for centuries by devout pilgrims en route to the sacred site. Along the way, we will traverse residential neighborhoods in modern Kruja and continue on an asphalt road until we reach the trail leading to the cave, which has long been a destination for pilgrims' prayers at the tekke. The locals refer to Kruja as the "Adriatic Balcony," as it boasts breathtaking panoramic views throughout the day. The tour concludes with a return to Kruja, where you can explore the old bazaar and purchase traditional handmade goods and crafts before heading back to Durres.
